What to expect with Sculptra treatment

Treatment with Sculptra in Brooklyn at our medi-spa takes about 20 minutes. The area may be numbed with an anesthetic cream before the injections are administered. Any discomfort from the injections will be minimal because we use lidocaine anesthetic in all our Sculptra injections.

After the injections, we will massage the treated area, and we will also ask you to continue massaging your face for a few days after. This is to help the product properly spread. The treatment is highly individualized, and depending on your skin’s condition, your age, and any previous treatments you may have had, you may require more than one Sculptra session. These are typically performed 6 to 8 weeks apart.

Downtime

There is no downtime after a Sculptra treatment, although some patients will have swelling immediately after each treatment. This swelling is minimal and usually fades within a few days. As with any injectable treatment, there may also be some redness, tenderness, and/or bruising at the injection sites. These side effects are usually very minimal and will subside within a few days (if not sooner).

Results

Since it takes time for our body to build new collagen, the results with Sculptra are not immediate like they are with hyaluronic acid fillers. Results with Sculptra take about two months to appear. However, once the results begin, they can last for two years. Dr. Giyaur will see you in a follow-up appointment in about 10 months to see if you need a touch-up.
